Mabira Rain-forest
Mabira forest is the largest natural lowland tropical forest in central Uganda. It’s about 2 hours drive from Kampala past. The forest is home to over 200 species of birds and about 5 of primates. The forest has become a popular place for Zipling and camping in Jinja.
Unfortunately, a large size of it has been destroyed a s result of human activities and urbanization. It is now smaller than its original size but still allows for great adventure and exciting activities for those who love nature. Mabira is located in Buikwe district – between Mukono and Jinja. The main activities carried out in Mabira forest are Zip lining, camping, bird watching and nature walks.
